OPC declares war against Fulani herdsmen

Lagos - The Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC), has declared war against Fulani herdsmen that recently attacked and killed scores in Enugu state, Leadership reports.
The Yoruba militia group made its resolution known at a general meeting held at Gbagada Roundabout in Lagos on Tuesday.
More than 1 000 members of the group from across many states of the federation including Bayelsa, participated in the meeting.
The group also resolved to forcefully oppose the sponsorship of the grazing bill at the National Assembly, saying the position is not only an insult to the ‘collective psyche of Nigerians.’
It said the attacks of the herdsmen could be traced to many centuries ago when the Yoruba lands including the old Oyo empire was ravaged by the activities of the herdsmen.
